Dow ranked third of 15 global companies in an International Business Equality Index survey sponsored by the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (IGLCC), an international group sponsored by companies including ING Financial, IBM and KPMG to promote workplace inclusion globally. The survey measured how major, global corporations are performing internationally in issues related to inclusion and workplace equality of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. The results were announced on July 28 during the International Conference on LGBT Human Rights held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
“Diversity & Inclusion plays a central role in creating the people-centric performance culture that will help Dow execute its long-term strategy. Simply put, we need the best talent, and the full engagement of all our employees, to ensure we meet the competitive challenges in front of us”, says Howard Ungerleider, VP Investor Relations and global sponsor for Dow’s employee network GLAD (Gays, Lesbians and Allies at Dow). He continues: “Winning this award is great recognition for our actions in this area”.
The IGLCC Index provides an opportunity for corporations to evaluate and enhance their equitable policies and practices. Dow has also been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign, receiving 100% on the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index for the past 4 years. Visit www.iglcc.com for the full IGLCC Index.
