Dow Launches Ambitious 2015 Sustainability Goals

In 2003, with significant gains made on the 2005 Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Goals, we resolved to aim even higher with our goals for the next decade — the 2015 Sustainability Goals.

The 2015 Sustainability Goals build on the accomplishments of the 2005 EH&S Goals, but have a broader external focus: strengthening our relationships with the communities where we operate, continuing to improve our product stewardship and innovation, and reducing our global footprint.

Through dialogue sessions, we sought input and insights from diverse stakeholders: employees, community members, socially and environmentally focused non-governmental organizations and the Corporate Environmental Advisory Council (CEAC) — our council of 10 external opinion leaders from around the world. The discussions were honest and frank. Dow was challenged to stretch further and reach higher.

Our discussions with external stakeholders helped us formulate the critical themes for the 2015 Sustainability Goals and ensure that they are well-integrated. We will continue to collaborate with them and with other key stakeholders as we implement and track our performance against these goals.

The 2015 Sustainability Goals

The 2015 Sustainability Goals reflect our long-term commitment to the principles of Responsible Care®. The goals align to three areas of focus, Collaborate, Innovate and Elevate.

We will collaborate with people in our communities and others to help create stronger, safer communities. Our goals:

We will innovate to improve confidence that our products are managed safely throughout their lifecycle and develop products that will make a lasting, positive improvement on the world. Our goals:

• Product Safety Commitment
• Sustainable Chemistry
• Products Designed to Solve World Challenges

We will elevate our understanding of our impact on global ecosystems and work towards the efficient and effective use of our precious resources. Our goals:

• Energy Efficiency and Conservation
• Addressing Climate Change
