Dow Wolff Cellulosics to Increase Prices for Nitrocellulose products
Rising raw material costs and continued investment are among drivers for pricing changes

Bomlitz, Germany - November 10, 2008

In response to continued increases in raw material costs, Dow Wolff Cellulosics today announced that it will increase prices for the Nitrocellulose portfolio globally up to 15 percent, depending on specific grades and market segments. The price increases are effective as of December 1, 2008 or as contracts allow.

The products impacted by this announcement are all nitrocellulose grades under the brand names of WalsroderTM Nitrocellulose and WalsroderTM NC-Chips.

“Price adjustments will partially offset a number of cost pressures which we cannot ignore. While hydrocarbon & energy costs are falling, key raw materials into NC like cellulose pulp continue to be on the rise.,” said Andre Popp, global marketing manager Nitrocellulose, Dow Wolff Cellulosics. “In addition, they will allow us to continue to invest in the safety of our facilities which has highest priority.to fulfill the future needs of our customers and markets.”
