Midland, MI - June 15, 2009
Dow Oil & Gas, a division of The Dow Chemical Company, a leading science and technology company, announced today that Qatargas 2, the world's first fully integrated value chain liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, has selected SELEXOLâ„¢, a one-of-a-kind physical solvent from Dow, as the solvent of choice to enable Qatargas trains 4 and 5 to treat natural gas more efficiently.
SELEXOLâ„¢ offers significant value to the gas treating process, including:
- Significant cost savings - enabling a smaller train to accommodate the same amount of contaminants
- Proven performance - history of successful use in this application time after time
"We are proud of our participation in the Qatargas 2 project," said Janet Giesselman, general manager, Dow Oil & Gas. "Qatargas achievements in LNG value chain integration are a landmark achievement for the energy industry. We are delighted to be part of a milestone project for Qatar, a pioneer of the liquefied natural gas industry."
