Dow Announces Global Price Increase for Vinyl Acetate Monomers effective September 1st

Midland, MI - August 25, 2009

The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced today that it will increase the off schedule price in all regions for Vinyl Acetate Monomer effective September 1, 2009, or as contracts allow. The increase amounts by region are noted below in the table.

This increase is necessitated by the cost escalation of raw materials, particularly ethylene and methanol, key for the production of Vinyl Acetate Monomer.
